What’s going on now ? Who is Edward Snowden and what is with all of this SNOW ? Reminds me of this old post:

Kiki Preston, née Alice Gwynne (1898 – December 23, 1946) was an American socialite, a member of the infamous Happy Valley set, and the alleged mother of a child born out of wedlock with Prince George, Duke of Kent, fourth son of King George V of the United Kingdom. Notorious for her drug addiction, which earned her the nickname “the girl with the silver syringe”, she was a fixture of the Paris and New York high social circles, and a relation to the powerful Vanderbilt and Whitney families. Her life was marred by several tragic losses and her own mental problems, which eventually led to her suicide at 48.

Gun runner, Benghazzi, Aurora, Sandy Hook, Boston Marathon..on and on, it is scandals non stop. IRS targets citizens, Spying on the press, is there no privacy anymore ?
Edward Joseph Snowden (born June 21, 1983) is an American technical contractor and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, who worked as a contractor for the National Security Agency (NSA) before leaking details of a classified NSA spy program to the press. Snowden released classified material on top-secret NSA programs including the PRISM surveillance program to The Guardian and The Washington Post in June 2013.
Snowden said his leaking of PRISM and FISA orders related to NSA data capture efforts was an effort to blow the whistle on what he believes is excessive government surveillance of the American people. He traveled to Hong Kong before the leaks were publicized, expressing hope of eventually being granted asylum in Iceland. The U.S. Department of Justice has classified Snowden’s involvement in the PRISM surveillance program as a “criminal matter”, and his fate remains unclear.
Edward Snowden was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. His father, a resident of Pennsylvania, was an officer in the United States Coast Guard; and his mother, a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, is a clerk at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. He has one older sister, an attorney.
By 1999, Snowden had moved with his family to Ellicott City, Maryland, where he studied computing at Anne Arundel Community College in order to gain the credits necessary to obtain a high school diploma, but he didn’t complete the course and later obtained his GED.
On May 7, 2004, Snowden enlisted in the United States Army with the hope of eventually joining the Special Forces. He said “I wanted to fight in the Iraq war because I felt like I had an obligation as a human being to help free people from oppression” but was discharged just months later on September 28 after breaking both of his legs in a training accident. His next employment was as an NSA security guard for a covert facility at the University of Maryland, before joining the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to work on IT security.
In 2007, the CIA stationed him with diplomatic cover in Geneva, Switzerland, where he was responsible for maintaining computer network security. Snowden left the agency in 2009 for a private contractor inside an NSA facility on a United States military base in Japan.
At the time of his departure from the U.S. in May 2013, he had been working for defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton for less than three months as a system administrator inside the NSA in Hawaii. He described his life as “very comfortable,” earning a salary of “roughly US$200,000.” He was fired on June 10 from Booz Allen Hamilton, “for violations of the firm’s code of ethics and firm policy.”.
The Guardian describes Snowden as intensely passionate about the value of privacy; his laptop displays stickers supporting internet freedom organizations including the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the Tor Project. In the 2008 presidential election, Snowden voted for third-party candidates. He said he “believed in Obama‘s promises,” yet “he continued with the policies of his predecessor.” For the 2012 election, political donation records indicate that he contributed to the primary campaign of Ron Paul.
Media disclosures about PRISM
In May 2013, Snowden was granted temporary leave from his work as a contractor for the NSA in Hawaii, on the pretext of receiving treatment for his epilepsy. According to local real estate agents, Snowden and his girlfriend moved out of their home on May 1, leaving nothing behind.
Snowden first made contact with journalists Glenn Greenwald of The Guardian and Barton Gellman writing for The Washington Post. He used the codename “Verax”, meaning truth-teller in Latin, and asked not to be quoted at length for fear of identification by semantic analysis. Greenwald claims to have been working with Snowden since February, while Gellman says his first “direct contact” was on May 16; however, Gellman alleges Greenwald was only involved after the Post declined to guarantee publication of the full documents within 72 hours.
According to Gellman, prior to their first meeting in person, Snowden wrote, “I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions, and that the return of this information to the public marks my end.”. Snowden also told Gellman that until the articles were published, the journalists working with him would also be at risk from the U.S. intelligence community, whom Snowden said “will most certainly kill you if they think you are the single point of failure that could stop his disclosure and make them the sole owner of this information.”
The National Security Agency has requested a criminal probe into Snowden’s actions from the United States Department of Justice. James R. Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, said that his “reckless disclosures” have resulted in “significant misimpressions” in the media. Speaking before Snowden was named, chairman of the US Select Committee on Intelligence Mike Rogers said of the whistleblowers: “I absolutely think they should be prosecuted.”.
Peter King, formerly the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, called for Snowden’s extradition from Hong Kong, with which the United States has an extradition treaty but with exclusions for political offenses.
Snowden’s employer Booz Allen Hamilton released a statement condemning his actions as “shocking” and “a grave violation of the code of conduct and core values of our firm.”. The statement emphasized his short-term involvement with the firm stating Snowden had been in Hawaii working for less than three months, and that his annual salary was about 122,000 US dollars, not the 200,000 previously reported.Booz Allen Hamilton’s stock value dropped after Snowden’s association with them became public knowledge.
A spokesperson for Dell declined to comment on Snowden’s claimed past employment with the firm.
Daniel Ellsberg, the whistleblower and leaker of the top-secret Pentagon Papers in 1971, stated in an interview with CNN that he thought Snowden had done an “incalculable” service to his country and that his leaks might prevent America from becoming a surveillance state. He said Snowden had acted with the same sort of courage and patriotism as a soldier in battle. In an op-ed the following morning, Ellsberg added that “there has not been in American history a more important leak than Edward Snowden’s release of NSA material – and that includes the Pentagon Papers, for which I was responsible 40 years ago.”
Julian Assange praised and lauded Snowden, calling him a “hero” who has exposed “one of the most serious events of the decade – the creeping formulation of a mass surveillance state”. Journalist Glenn Greenwald has also praised Snowden.
Several prominent political figures across the political spectrum have praised Edward Snowden for exposing secret government surveillance to the public. These include Chris Hedges and Michael Moore on the left; and Glenn Beck, Matt Drudge, Alex Jones, Rand Paul, Ron Paul, and Michael Savage of conservative and libertarian convictions.
Senator Rand Paul has stated he is interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit over PRISM.
The following U.S. politicians have called for arrest of Edward Snowden: Senators Dianne Feinstein, Lindsey Graham, Bob Menendez and Bill Nelson, Speaker of the House John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Representatives Mike Rogers, John Thune and Peter King.
Representative Thomas Massie said: “I’m not a lawyer, but based on what I know so far, I don’t think he should be prosecuted,” and “If someone reports illegal activity as a whistle-blower, they shouldn’t be prosecuted. Whether or not this program was authorized by Congress, it seems to me that this is an unconstitutional activity.” He added: “…Which would make it illegal, and he should have some kind of immunity.
The names here really catch my eye as well. Let’s look a bit more:
Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. (Booz Allen) is an American consulting firm headquartered in Tysons Corner, Fairfax County, Virginia, with 80 other offices throughout the United States. It is recognized as one of the most prestigious technology consulting firms in the world and one of the best consulting firms to work for by Consulting Magazine. Bloomberg Government ranked Booz Allen as 16th in its listing of industry leaders in the government sector in 2013. Founded in 1914 by Edwin G. Booz, the company is one of the oldest management consulting firms in the world.
Booz Allen Hamilton is engaged in providing management and technology consulting services to the United States government and commercial services. Booz Allen’s services include strategic planning, human capital and learning, communications, operational improvement, information technology work, systems engineering, organizational change efforts, modeling and simulation, program management, assurance and resilience, and economic business analysis.
As of August 2008, what was formerly Booz Allen Hamilton’s parent company (which used the Booz Allen name itself) divided in two. The Booz Allen Hamilton moniker was retained by the half focusing on U.S. governmental matters, with Booz & Company taking sole control of its commercial strategy and international portfolio. Booz Allen Hamilton is majority owned by private equity firm The Carlyle Group, while Booz & Company is owned and operated as a partnership. On November 17, 2010, Booz Allen’s shares of common stock began trading at the New York Stock Exchange.
In June 2013 when employee Edward Snowden revealed information about a supposed Booz Allen Hamilton-contracted mass digital surveillance project called PRISM. Snowden fled to Hong Kong seeking asylum issuing a statement “I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded… That is not something I am willing to support or live under.”
The company released a statement condemning his whistle blowing actions as “shocking” and “a grave violation of the code of conduct and core values of our firm.

The firm has gone through several name changes is its near-100 years of existence. These include: Edwin G. Booz, Business Engineering Service; Edwin G. Booz Surveys; Edwin G. Booz and Fry Surveys; Booz, Fry, Allen & Hamilton; Booz, Allen & Hamilton; and finally Booz Allen Hamilton.
A June 28, 2007 Washington Post article related how a U.S. Department of Homeland Security contract with Booz Allen increased from $2 million to more than $70 million through two no-bid contracts, one occurring after the DHS’s legal office had advised DHS not to continue the contract until after a review. A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report on the contract characterized it as not well-planned and lacking any measure for assuring valuable work to be completed.
According to the article,
A review of memos, e-mail and other contracting documents obtained by The Washington Post show that in a rush to meet congressional mandates to establish the information analysis and infrastructure protection offices, agency officials routinely waived rules designed to protect taxpayer money. As the project progressed, the department became so dependent on Booz Allen that it lost the flexibility for a time to seek out other contractors or hire federal employees who might do the job for less.
Elaine C. Duke, the department’s chief procurement officer, acknowledged the problems with the Booz Allen contract. But Duke said those matters have been resolved. She defended a decision to issue a second no-bid contract in 2005 as necessary to keep an essential intelligence operation running until a competition could be held
.National Institutes of Health
In March 2011, The National Institutes of Health reported that Booz Allen Hamilton spent roughly $350M of public funds to develop the caBIG “Cancer biomedical Informatics Grid”. The NIH report recommended an immediate moratorium on software contracts and a full audit of budget expenditures. The original goals of the program were to share cancer data between NIH funded study centers. caBIG quickly grew in scope beyond the funded objectives, which the NIH cited as a key cause of failure. Funding levels for caBIG were the largest ever spent for a US biomedical research network. As of May 2012, the caBIG program was retired.

Allen name again ?
Allyn ? Like NCR, Watson and IBM ?
The company began as the National Manufacturing Company of Dayton, Ohio, which was established to manufacture and sell the first mechanical cash register, invented in 1879 by James Ritty. In 1884, the company and patents were bought by John Henry Patterson and his brother Frank Jefferson Patterson and the firm was renamed the National Cash Register Company. Patterson formed NCR into one of the first modern American companies, introducing new, aggressive sales methods and business techniques. He established the first sales training school in 1893, and introduced a comprehensive social welfare program for his factory workers.
Other significant figures in the early history of the company were Charles F. Kettering, Thomas J. Watson, Sr. and Edward A. Deeds. Deeds and Kettering went on to found Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company which later became Delco Products Division of General Motors. Watson eventually worked his way up to general sales manager. Bent on inspiring the dispirited NCR sales force, Watson introduced the motto “THINK!” Signs with this motto were erected in factory buildings, sales offices, and club rooms during the mid-1890s. Watson left NCR for IBM in 1914 and “THINK” later became a widely-known symbol of IBM. Kettering designed the first cash register powered by an electric motor in 1906. Within a few years he developed the Class 1000 register which was in production for 40 years, and the O.K. Telephone Credit Authorization system for verifying credit in department stores.

We have a new scandal to address. No one will be surprised. This is the new current reality of living in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
It seems that hundreds of Department of Health and Human Services employees had access to information about a Medicare decision, at least 436 employees to be exact, that could have been very useful in advance of a huge trading spike which was the result of the announcement.
The Washington Post is breaking this story today:
Hundreds of federal employees were given advance word of a Medicare decision worth billions of dollars to private insurers in the weeks before the official announcement, a period when trading in the shares of those firms spiked. The surge of trading in Humana‘s and other private health insurers’ stock before the April 1 announcement already has prompted the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether Wall Street investors had advance access to inside information about the then-confidential Medicare funding plan.
Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) told The Washington Post late last week that his office reviewed the e-mail records of employees at the Department of Health and Human Services and found that 436 of them had early access to the Medicare decision as much as two weeks before it was made public. The number of federal employees with advance knowledge is surely higher; the figures Grassley’s staff compiled did not include people at the White House’s Office of Management and Budget who also saw the information. The e-mail records of those employees have not been made available to Grassley. The discovery that sensitive information was so widely disseminated could complicate the forensic task for investigators trying to determine who may have leaked confidential information, and it brings further attention to the government’s handling of policy details valued by Wall Street traders. “This should sound an alarm,” Grassley said. “It should result in better controls to avoid unfair access to information that the average investor could never tap.”
It is important to note that being in early receipt of the information does not make one a criminal. It’s how the information is used. But if out of 436 government employees, and their associates, you don’t think at least 1 person used this information for personal gain then you simply have not been paying attention.
I’d be surprised if there were not several people who used this for personal gain, at least to the extent that they bought a few extra shares of Humana or Aetna. Even a small purchase of shares based on insider information is unethical. 10 shares may not get you prosecuted but that does not discount the fact that it is wrong and still illegal.
ECHELON is a name used in global media and in popular culture to describe a signals intelligence (SIGINT) collection and analysis network operated on behalf of the five signatory states to the UKUSA Security Agreement (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, referred to by a number of abbreviations, including AUSCANNZUKUS and Five Eyes). It has also been described as the only software system which controls the download and dissemination of the intercept of commercial satellite trunk communications.
ECHELON, according to information in the European Parliament document, “On the existence of a global system for the interception of private and commercial communications (ECHELON interception system)” was created to monitor the military and diplomatic communications of the Soviet Union and its Eastern Bloc allies during the Cold War in the early 1960s.
The system has been reported in a number of public sources. Its capabilities and political implications were investigated by a committee of the European Parliament during 2000 and 2001 with a report published in 2001, and by author James Bamford in his books on the National Security Agency of the United States. The European Parliament stated in its report that the term ECHELON is used in a number of contexts, but that the evidence presented indicates that it was the name for a signals intelligence collection system. The report concludes that, on the basis of information presented, ECHELON was capable of interception and content inspection of telephone calls, fax, e-mail and other data traffic globally through the interception of communication bearers including satellite transmission, public switched telephone networks (which once carried most Internet traffic) and microwave links.
Bamford describes the system as the software controlling the collection and distribution of civilian telecommunications traffic conveyed using communication satellites, with the collection being undertaken by ground stations located in the footprint of the downlink leg.
The 2010 Austin suicide attack occurred on February 18, 2010, when Andrew Joseph Stack III, flying his Piper Dakota, crashed into Building I of the Echelon office complex in Austin, Texas, United States, killing himself and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) manager Vernon Hunter. Thirteen others were injured, two seriously. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) field office was located in a four-story office building, along with other state and federal government agencies and some private businesses on the first floor. Prior to the crash, Stack had posted a suicide note referring to “greed” with the IRS, dated February 18, 2010, to his business website.
What’s going on ? Golf and more SNOW. Also see Echelon Golf Course in Atlanta: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rees_Jones
Rees Jones (born September 16, 1941) is an American golf course architect.
He was born in Montclair, New Jersey the son of legendary golf course designer Robert Trent Jones and the younger brother of golf course designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr. His wife Susan was the executive assistant to photographer Edgar de Evia in the 1970s.
His first exposure to golf course design came as a boy when he would accompany his father surveying courses. After attending Yale and graduate studies at Harvard University‘s Graduate School of Design, he joined his father and older brother at Robert Trent Jones Incorporated. He helped his father on numerous courses until forming his own firm in 1974. He has designed or redesigned over 100 golf courses in his career.
Jones continues to design courses and currently resides in his hometown of Montclair, New Jersey. He has also served as the president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. A noted environmentalist, he has been a vocal champion for the cause of environmentally friendly golf courses.
Jones received the 2004 Old Tom Morris Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, GCSAA’s highest honor.
De Evia was born in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. His mother was Pauline Joutard (1890–1957), a French-born pianist who performed under the stage name Miirrha Alhambra. His father was Domingo Fernando Evia y Barbachano (1883–1977), a wealthy landowner who was a member of two families that have been prominent in the politics and culture of Yucatán since the mid 19th century, one of which, the Barbachanos, has been described as “one of the most powerful of Yucatán’s oligarchy.”
His great-grandfather Don Miguel Barbachano y Tarrazo (1806–1859) was a five-time governor of Yucatán and the patriarch of a clan that was instrumental in developing the Mexican resorts of Cozumel and Playas de Rosarito in Baja California Norte and in popularizing the ruins of Chichen Itza as a tourist attraction. Among his cousins was Manuel Barbachano Ponce, the Mexican film producer and director.
Based on immigration and other official records, it appears that Evia altered his surname to de Evia sometime after 1942, at which time he was using the professional name Edgar D. Evia.
Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon, GCVO RDI (born 7 March 1930) is an English photographer and film maker. He was married to Princess Margaret, younger daughter of King George VI, and younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II.
He is known professionally, and credited, simply as Snowdon.

After the war, Margaret fell in love with a recently divorced commoner 16 years her elder, Group Captain Peter Townsend, her father’s equerry. Her father died in 1952, and her sister became queen. Margaret told her sister in early 1953 that she wished to marry Townsend. Many in the government felt that Townsend would be an unsuitable husband for the Queen’s 22-year-old sister, and the Church of England refused to countenance the marriage to a divorced man. Her sister’s coronation was pending, and Elizabeth asked Margaret to wait a year. Margaret eventually abandoned her plans, and, in 1960, accepted the proposal of the photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, who was created Earl of Snowdon by Elizabeth II. The marriage, despite an auspicious start, soon became unhappy. The couple divorced in 1978, and Margaret never remarried.

There is no relation to either Barack Hussein Obama the Kenyan or Stanley Ann Dunham.
The airlift myth was concocted by Cora Weiss, and the rewrite including fake girlfriends is by Bill Ayers who was at Bank Street when Genevieve Cook was there.
This on the basis of research by many people over years exposing scores of anomalies in the official propaganda.
We are all the products of a series of accidents, really. Every human is a personification of chaos theory. As a butterfly flaps its wings and sets in train a hurricane, an act of generosity 50 years ago in Kenya gives America a President.
To explain. There were two American teachers, Helen Roberts and Elizabeth Mooney living in Nairobi in the late 1960s, and they had taken a shine to a bright young student. They wanted to foster his brilliance and they paid for him to fly to America to continue his education.
That Kenyan man was Barack Obama Sr.
He went to Hawaii to study, and met a young woman. They had a son, who now is the President.
But for the goodness of Ms. Roberts and Ms. Mooney, you could argue, the President’s parents would never have met.
But chaos theory involves infinitely complex causation. You could also argue that without the vision of a Kenyan man named Tom Mboya, the President would not exist either.
For he arranged for the University of Hawaii to offer the scholarship taken by the senior Mr. Obama. And Mr. Mboya’s activities, in turn, depended on the dedication of a group of activists in America.
Cora Weiss, a 53-year summer resident of the Vineyard, was one of those activists. One of the main ones, in fact. And now a book has been written, Airlift to America, chronicling their efforts in bringing hundreds of African students to America to study, between 1959 and 1963.
The book was written by Tom Shachtman, much of it from records which had been stored in Mrs. Weiss’s garage for nearly 50 years. She also did many of the interviews.
“I was the executive director of something called the African-American Students’ Foundation, set up in 1959 to facilitate the travel and care and feeding of what became nearly 800 students from East Africa,” she recalled on Wednesday, sitting in the kitchen of her Aquinnah home.
The organization began because Mr. Mboya, a Kenyan labor activist, became concerned about how his country would function, once it gained independence from British colonial rule.
To the considerable displeasure of the British, he determined the country should look to America to help educate its future leaders.
“Tom was a young man, ambitious, brilliant. It was the height of colonialism there and of the civil rights movement here,” Mrs. Weiss said. “And Tom did a tour of American colleges, setting up scholarships everywhere, including the University of Hawaii.
“Then he said, ‘But we need an organization to run this.’
“So a few of us gathered in New York and I became the executive director, and on the board of directors,” Mrs. Weiss said.
With the initial support of two other families in Riverdale, in the Bronx, where Mrs. Weiss and her husband Peter lived, they started it.
“I worked with a man named Frank Montero and a woman raised in a Japanese concentration camp in California named Mary Hamanaka,” she recalled.
“We were very fortunate in that guy named Milton Gordon, who owned Lassie the dog — Lassie was quite a property in those days — and Milton had an office in the Seagram Building in New York and he let us have a room in his office. That’s where we worked from.”
The Weisses were no strangers to activism of this sort. Peter Weiss was on the board of the American Committee on Africa, “a very strong anti-colonial organization.”
“And I had spent my years at the University of Wisconsin at the international club setting up speaking dates for the few foreign students there, so they could have some pin money. I helped the few African students there organize a student union,” said Mrs. Weiss.
She also helped raise funds for Martin Luther King’s civil rights campaign. The Weisses were connected, as evidenced by the fact that Dr. King himself persuaded the Georgia university to take six students.
The cause of helping these African achievers to further their education was always closely connected to the civil rights movement.
“This country in those days had hundreds of small white Christian colleges in the South, who would not take a ‘negro.’ But would take a foreign student. So I think these black African students helped open the door a bit.
“The first plane was paid for because Harry Belafonte, Jackie Robinson and Sidney Poitier, together signed a fundraising letter,” Mrs. Weiss said.
“In that first group of 1959, 81 students came.”
“Barack Obama missed out on a seat on that first plane. Luckily the two teachers stepped in and raised money for him to come over on a parallel flight,” she said.
“He picked up the scholarship from the University of Hawaii. And while he was there, he needed money for books and tuition and clothes, some of which we sent him.
“So he wasn’t on the airlift, but he was a member of the airlift family.”
For further support, the Foundation tapped its black and Democratic contacts to get access to the Kennedys.
“So, it’s 1960 and John F. Kennedy is the chair of the Africa sub-committee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He wants to be President,” said Mrs. Weiss.
“So we got an appointment with Senator Kennedy in Hyannisport and Tom went up there. He and John F. Kennedy bonded. They were two men with similar ambitions, they wanted to be president of their countries. They both believed in justice and education.”
“And at the end, Kennedy picked up the phone to Sargent Shriver — Eunice Kennedy’s husband, in Chicago — who is the director of the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation, which manages the family money, and said ‘I want to support the airlift.’
“Initially they were going to send a check for $10,000 and Kennedy said ‘No, give them $100,000.’

Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, LGOMPCFRS (née Roberts, 13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013) was a British politician who was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and the Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century and is the only woman to have held the office. A Soviet journalist called her the “Iron Lady“, a nickname that became associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style. As Prime Minister, she implemented policies that have come to be known as Thatcherism.
KIRK, Phelps and Russian stories are here:
KIRK and Child etc..is here:
Simpson’s second wife was Wallis Warfield Spencer (1896–1986), the Baltimore-born former wife of Earl Winfield Spencer, Jr. and the only child of Teackle Wallis Warfield. They married in London, England, on 21 July 1928, and divorced on 3 May 1937. As his obituary in The New York Times noted, the publicity over his second wife’s remarriage to the Duke of Windsor and her subsequent fame thrust him into the role of “the forgotten man. The two remained friends, however, the newspaper noted, with the now Duchess of Windsor sending him flowers when he was in hospital for surgery and Simpson offering advice and clarification when his former wife was working on her memoirs.
His third wife was Mary Raffray (née Mary Huntemuller Kirk, 1896–1941), a daughter of Henry Child Kirk, owner and manager of the Kirk Silversmith Co. of Baltimore, Maryland and his wife, the former Edith Huntemuller.
A girlhood friend of Wallis Simpson’s, Mary Kirk was a bridesmaid at her first wedding and introduced her to Ernest Simpson in 1925; she also was the “other woman” with whom Simpson took a hotel suite in Berkshire in order to give his wife evidence of adultery to so she could bring divorce proceedings against him. Ernest Simpson and Mary Raffray were married in the Diamond Jubilee ballroom of the Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Connecticut on 19 November 1937, six months after the groom’s divorce from Wallis Simpson and three weeks after the bride’s divorce from Raffray.
Mary and Ernest Simpson had one child, Ernest Henry Child Simpson, who was born prematurely on 27 September 1939, and christened at the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London. In June 1940, the Simpsons sent their infant son to the United States to escape the war including the Blitz. However, a month before Mary’s death he returned with her to England.

Welcome to the Utah Data Center, a new home for the NSA’s exponentially expanding information trove. The $1.7bn facility, two years in the making, will soon host supercomputers to store gargantuan quantities of data from emails, phone calls, Google searches and other sources. Sited on an unused swath of the national guard base, by September it will employ around 200 technicians, span 1m sq ft and use 65 megawatts of power.
Inslaw, Inc. is a small, Washington, D.C.-based, information technology company. In the mid-1970s, Inslaw developed for the United States Department of Justice a highly efficient, people-tracking, computer program known as Prosecutor’s Management Information System (Promis). Inslaw’s principal owners, William Anthony Hamilton and his wife, Nancy Burke Hamilton, later sued the United States Government (acting as principal to the Department of Justice) for not complying with the terms of the Promis contract and for refusing to pay for an enhanced version of Promis once delivered. This allegation of software piracy led to three trials in separate federal courts and two congressional hearings.
During ensuing investigations, the Department of Justice was accused of deliberately attempting to drive Inslaw into Chapter 7 liquidation; and of distributing and selling stolen software for covert intelligence operations of foreign governments such as Canada, Israel, Singapore, Iraq, Egypt, and Jordan; and of becoming directly involved in murder.
Later developments implied that derivative versions of Enhanced Promis sold on the black market may have become the high-tech tools of worldwide terrorists such as Osama Bin Laden and international money launderers and thieves.
Editor’s Note: Kenn Thomas publishes Steamshovel Press, the conspiracy theory magazine. Four issue subscription: $23; single issue: $6, from POB 23715, St. Louis, MO 63121. The Octopus: The Secret Government and the Death of Danny Casolaro (Feral House, 1995), written with the late Jim Keith, is also available. A revised and updated edition is scheduled for 2002 publication.
Because circumstances have shrouded Danny Casolaro’s death in mystery, the single aspect of his research that led to it may never be known for certain. Hotel workers in Martinsburg, West Virginia found the writer dead in August 1991 in what looked like a faked suicide.
The “head’s up” warning flashed among students of the conspiracy culture when they learned that files he had on him were missing and the details of his investigative work slowly emerged from friends, family and fellow investigators. Casolaro previously had previously had warned these same people not to believe any reports that might have fallen victim to an “accident.” The fishy circumstances of his death and the probable motivations of his possible killers remain obvious.
Danny Casolaro sought to document and expose sea of covert operatives, super-surveillance software and transnational spies. He called the monster he saw swimming in that sea “the Octopus.” It consisted of a group of US intelligence veterans that had banded together to manipulate world events for the sake of consolidating and extending its power.
Of course it involved the Kennedy assassination, but that was just one of many coups and assassinations pulled off by the Octopus since the end of World War II. The group had come together over a covert operation to invade Albania that was betrayed by famed British turncoat Kim Philby. The Octopus had overthrown Jacob Arbenz in Guatemala in 1954. It had targeted operations against Fidel Castro culminating in the Bay of Pigs. It also had tentacles in the political upheavals in Angola, Rhodesia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Chile, Iran and Iraq.
Casolaro had as his main concern Octopus involvement with putting Ronald Reagan in power–the infamous October Surprise–and the role that played in introducing the PROMIS software into police systems around the world.
Casolaro’s catalogue of membership in the Octopus included such notorious spooks as John Singlaub and the late CIA director William Colby. As heads of the Phoenix assassination program in Vietnam they had implemented an early version of the PROMIS tracking software to keep tabs on the Viet Cong. Other Octopus tentacles included characters like E. Howard Hunt and Bernard Baker, who later emerged as Watergate burglars.
Casolaro focused on one person in the periphery of the Octopus as it had developed in the early 1980s, a man named Earl Brian, crony to Reagan’s attorney general Ed Meese. Brian had been given PROMIS to sell illegally as a reward for paying off Ayatollah Khomeini to hold on to American hostages until the Carter presidential re-election campaign clearly was doomed. According to Casolaro, Meese used the US Justice department to steal PROMIS from its developers, the Inslaw group, which had its connections to the Phoenix program and also had developed the software at least in part on public money. Two congressional committees eventually agreed, however, that Inslaw was the legal private owner of PROMIS when the US Justice department shanghaied it and Earl Brian profiteered by selling it to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Interpol, the Mossad and other international police agencies as well as to the military. One application of the modified PROMIS included the ability to track Soviet submarines in previously untraceable marine trenches near Iceland.
If coded correctly, PROMIS could interface with other databases without reprogramming, giving ability to ostensibly track criminals-but also, potentially, political dissidents–through the computer systems of various police agencies. Casolaro’s informant, Michael Riconosciuto added to this the claim that he had personally reprogrammed PROMIS with a backdoor, so it could spy on the methods of the police agencies that were using it for tracking. This gave it added appeal as a covert tool. The US could spy on the very agencies it was selling the software to illegally.
Earl Brian’s role in the PROMIS theft was spelled out explicitly by Inslaw lawyer Elliot Richardson, another Watergate figure in The New York Times in 1992. Richardson was the attorney general who actually stood up to Richard Nixon’s corruption during the Saturday Night massacre. Brian sued over the New York Times article and lost. Richardson had written the article to encourage investigation of the case, but Brian used the opportunity to start a nuisance libel suit. On November 29, 1995, the New York Court of Appeals dismissed Brian’s claim and declared that Richardson’s assertions came under free speech protections.
Although never prosecuted over the PROMIS allegations, Brian survived only one more year after the libel suit before other past shady deals began to catch up with him. In October 1996 a California jury convicted him of Federal bank fraud, conspiracy and lying to auditors. Prosecutors charged that Brian had drafted documents to conceal losses of the Financial News Network and United Press International, for whom he served as chief executive, in order to obtain $70 million in bank loans for his other concern, a biotyechnology firm called Infotechnology.
Interestingly, the pattern of financial impropriety in the case was identical to one that happened on assassination day, November 22, 1963. Someone named Tony DeAngelis misrepresented his holdings of thousands of tons of salad oil with faked American Express warehouse receipts in order to get bank loans. The fraud’s exposure was the top news story in the New York Times editions that came out before the assassination on that date. Many people profiteered from the short-selling spree on the markets consequent to that and news of JFK’s murder, including American Express magnate Warren Buffet and a transnational entity called Bunge Corporation, known in the financial literature of the time. as The Octopus. In a classic work on the JFK assassination, Were We Controlled?, pseudonymous author Lincoln Lawrence argues that DeAngelis, Jack Ruby, and Lee Harvey Oswald were all mind-controlled in their actions on that day. I produced an edition of this book, with an expanded introduction and photographs, as the book NASA, Nazis & JFK: The Torbitt Document and the JFK Assassination (Kempton, IL: Adventures Unlimited Press, 1997). Add to that the fact that Earl Brian at one time a brain surgeon, and the other Watergate-Inslaw connection, E. Howard Hunt, had a phone relationship with Casolaro, has also been connect to mind control operations, and the Casolaro story takes some extremely interesting speculative turns.
Casolaro’s informant Michael Riconosciuto claimed that he had made his modifications to PROMIS on the tribal lands of the Cabazon Indians in Indio, California as part of a joint project the tribal administrators had with a private security firm known as Wackenhut.

http://www.politicsdaily.com/2011/01/04/killing-of-viet…The articles stress that he was the man behind the Vietnam War Memorial, but they don’t say much about who he was currently working for–a corporation named Mitre, which I had never heard of, which has former CIA Director, former Sec of Defense, former head of the Atomic Energy Commission and former Secretary of Energy James R. Schlesinger as Board Chairman…http://www.mitre.org/about/bot/schlesinger.html
(the other Board members) http://www.mitre.org/about/trustees.htmlMitre appears to be at the heart of the U.S. national security state and of worldwide U.S. “security” (war) operations, including government/corporate information and surveillance technology, cyber-defense, aviation system development and airspace security, precision bombing from drone aircraft, and other Defense and Homeland Security systems, and coordination of U.S. defense technology with other countries. Very very big, very very well-connected, very very important company. Take a look at their web site…http://www.mitre.org /Wheeler is described in news articles as having been involved, in particular, in cyber-security…http://www.mitre.org/work/cybersecurity.html—————————–One thing that puzzles me is this: I can understand how someone who works for the Mitre Corporation, with James Schlesinger as Chairman, can end up in a landfill. Schlesinger must have a lot of secrets he is protecting–from JFK’s assassination all the way to 9/11 and beyond. He’s been around a long time and is a major player in our corpo-fascist state. And Mitre is right in the middle of the cyber-terrorist world that the U.S. has been busy creating at least since 9/11. But if it was a corpo-fascist state hit, you’d think that Wheeler would have just disappeared and ended up as landfill. A bullet through the head. End of Wheeler and whatever problem Wheeler presented. What the vid shows is a very disoriented man. Something’s gone haywire with him. He insisted to somebody he met along the way, “I am not drunk. I am not drunk.” But he surely looks drugged in that vid. Not drunk, more without his wits–memory loss. He told a parking attendant that his briefcase was stolen, his parking ticket was in the briefcase and he couldn’t find his car. He wandered around in that state for some time, and was seen by several people, some of whom offered help which he refused. He goes from a drug store in New Castle, to the New Castle County Courthouse parking lot, to the Nemours Building in Wilmington. THEN he disappears and is found in one of the trucks that had driven to the landfill to dump its load on the morning of Dec. 30.Could be a hit gone wrong. Could be he was being hunted when we see him in the vid, after someone drugged him or hit his head (although I see no wound). If so, how did a targeted man get free or wander around so freely for some hours. Did someone foil the assassin? Then the assassination team re-grouped and found him again?snip~Also from link above:*(I will just tell you what popped into my head. I follow events in Latin America closely, and something’s going on with this Bush tool, Alvaro Uribe, president of Colombia during the Bush Junta. Colombian prosecutors are investigating Uribe for massive illegal domestic spying. Meanwhile, someone helped the prosecutors’ chief spying witness against Uribe flee Colombia, to Panama, where she was given unusual, overnight asylum. I suspect CIA Director Leon Panetta of arranging this asylum, because I think that Panetta–an old cohort of Bush Sr–has been charged with cleaning up after Junior, and I suspect Junior and his Junta of aiding Uribe’s spying and possibly aiding related death squad killings in Colombia. Six other spying witnesses against Uribe have also fled Colombia and asked for asylum–but Panama’s president hasn’t given it to them yet, possibly because the asylum he gave to the main spying witness is causing him local and regional political trouble–an indication of how unusual this asylum was. It was over the objections of Colombian prosecutors. And the other reason he is hesitating may be that these other six witnesses can’t nail Uribe the way the main witness can.(Further, Uribe and Bush ambassador to Colombia William Brownfield last year arranged the midnight extradition of certain death squad witnesses, to the U.S., on mere drug charges, where they have been “buried” in the U.S. federal prison system–out of the reach of Colombian prosecutors and, again, over their objections–by the complete sealing of their cases in U.S. federal court in Washington DC. So there is a coverup going on, re Colombia. The U.S. government is protecting Uribe–some 70 of whose closest political cronies are under investigation or already in jail for ties to the death squads, drug trafficking, bribery, spying and other crimes. The U.S. is also coddling Uribe, with cushy academic sinecures at Georgetown and Harvard, and with a prestigious appointment to an international legal commission.(Three other possibly important facts: The U.S. State Department recently “fined” Blackwater for “unauthorized” “trainings” of “foreign persons” IN COLOMBIA “for use in Iraq and Afghanistan.” (I don’t believe the word “unauthorized.”) And, last year, Uribe and Brownfield also arranged a secretly negotiated and secretly signed U.S./Colombia military agreement which included a provision for total diplomatic immunity for all U.S. military personnel and all U.S. military ‘contractors’ in Colombia. Dyncorp is one of the ‘contractors.’ Dyncorp may have provided the pilot, the plane and the pinpoint nighttime bombing technology for the U.S./Colombia bombing/raid on Ecuador in March 2008, in which 500 lb U.S. “smart bombs” were dropped on a FARC guerrilla hostage release camp just inside Ecuador’s border, killing 25 sleeping people–an act that nearly started a war between the U.S./Colombia and Ecuador/Venezuela.(Could Wheeler have been involved in, or could he have known something about, U.S. “cyber-security” in Colombia–connected to Uribe’s domestic spying and death squad killings, or to the bombing/raid on Ecuador? It would seem to be the sort of thing that Mitre does–and on their map of the worldwide reach of their clientele they include the top western portion of South America (that is, Colombia).) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academi Blackwater, Prinz and Clarkhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Seal He also worked for:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans_World_AirlinesTWA’s corporate history dates from the July 16, 1930, forced merger of Transcontinental Air Transport (T-A-T) and Western Air Express to form Transcontinental & Western Air (T&WA). Transcontinental, the bigger of the two, had the marquee expertise of Charles Lindbergh and was already offering a 48-hour combination of plane and train trip across the United States. Let’s begin with these:
1) Why did you choose Hong Kong to go to and then tell them about US hacking on their research facilities and universities?
2) How many sets of the documents you disclosed did you make, and how many different people have them? If anything happens to you, do they still exist?
1) First, the US Government, just as they did with other whistleblowers, immediately and predictably destroyed any possibility of a fair trial at home, openly declaring me guilty of treason and that the disclosure of secret, criminal, and even unconstitutional acts is an unforgivable crime. That’s not justice, and it would be foolish to volunteer yourself to it if you can do more good outside of prison than in it.
Second, let’s be clear: I did not reveal any US operations against legitimate military targets. I pointed out where the NSA has hacked civilian infrastructure such as universities, hospitals, and private businesses because it is dangerous. These nakedly, aggressively criminal acts are wrong no matter the target. Not only that, when NSA makes a technical mistake during an exploitation operation, critical systems crash. Congress hasn’t declared war on the countries – the majority of them are our allies – but without asking for public permission, NSA is running network operations against them that affect millions of innocent people. And for what? So we can have secret access to a computer in a country we’re not even fighting? So we can potentially reveal a potential terrorist with the potential to kill fewer Americans than our own Police? No, the public needs to know the kinds of things a government does in its name, or the “consent of the governed” is meaningless.
2) All I can say right now is the US Government is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering me. Truth is coming, and it cannot be stopped.
We will continue with this post:
