My Kennedy Notes And The Land Of Os

Renee ©2012

One of my childhood memories was the day Kennedy was shot in Dallas. I remember it still, where we were, seeing all of the big people crying in the streets, news channels and non stop coverage, my mom was sad and would not get away from the TV that night so we got a sandwich for dinner.

Our country was in shock.

As a grown woman, I started working on and reading up on this history in 2008. I found alot no one wrote about, or not clearly that is. What I found linked to Oswald, Michael Paine, Ruth Hyde Paine, Forbes family, Arthur Young and BELL Helicopter. It is too much info for a post but the rest I will note in comments. Lets do the connections to George de Mohranschildt, J. Walton MOORE and Lee Harvey Oswald as well.

You may be very surprised by where all of this leads…

This post is for my friend Ms Billie Barre and my chestnut filly. I love you girls !

The Forbes family is a wealthy extended American family originating in Boston. The family’s fortune originates from trading between North America and China in the 19th century plus other investments in the same period. The name descends from Scottish immigrants, and can be traced back to Sir John de Forbes in Scotland in the 12th century. Notable family members are businessman John Murray Forbes (1813–1898), part of the first generation who accumulated wealth, and politician John Forbes Kerry (born 1943).

[edit] Family originsThe Forbes family descends from the Scottish Clan Forbes which was seated in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The first member of the Forbes family to live in the United States was John Forbes (1740–1783), a clergyman, who was married to Dorothy Murray on February 2, 1769 in Milton, Massachusetts, where one of his three sons was born. The family is considered part of the Boston Brahmin although Rev. John Forbes’s first post on the North American continent was in British East Florida, where he was the first Anglican clergyman licensed to officiate. There is also a link to the Dudley-Winthrop family directly from Thomas Dudley, father of Anne Bradstreet, the first female poet from America.

[edit] Accumulation of wealth[edit] Trade with ChinaThe Boston trading firm Perkins & Co. sent many young men of their extended family to participate in their business activities abroad. Ralph Forbes being married to Margaret Perkins, their children were encouraged in the business. Following the death overseas of his older brother, Thomas Tunno Forbes, the Perkinses encouraged John Murray Forbes to travel to China, too. There John was mentored by the Chinese merchant Houqua who treated him like a son.

Perkins & Co., like many other Boston trading firms in the early 19th century, sent ships to China to get tea for sale in America (although some was ultimately re-exported to Britain and Europe). To pay for the tea, they exported to China large quantities of silver and also furs, manufactured goods, cloth, wood, opium and any other items that they thought the Chinese market would absorb. Active trading houses, particularly those from Boston, usually kept representatives resident in Hong Kong whose main role was to look for and secure quality tea for export at good prices. This was John Murray Forbes’s main job during the two years he spent in China (Gibson 2001; Malloy 1998). John Murray Forbes’s brother, Robert Bennet Forbes, was more intimately involved in the importing side of the business and, at least by their own writings, had a more direct role than did John in the opium trade. (Kerr 1996; Hughes 1899).

Until recently, the Museum of the American China Trade in Milton, Mass., on Boston’s South Shore, was curated by a Forbes great-grandson, Dr. H. A. Crosby Forbes, an expert on Chinese porcelain.[1] The museum, which was housed in Robert Bennet Forbes’s 1833 Greek Revival style house, was a monument to the China merchants and the great wealth in Boston that both drove and resulted from the China trade. The China trade museum was merged with the Peabody Essex Museum in 1984 leaving the house in the management of the Forbes House Charitable Trust which operates it now as the Captain Forbes House Museum.

Neither John nor Robert spent more than a relatively short time in China—John was there for two years. Upon his return to Boston, John continued interest in the China trade for a few more years, serving as a business/investment manager for voyages undertaken by Robert and others. Fairly soon, however, he recognized that the China trade was becoming increasingly difficult to pursue profitably and that railroads offered a new and much more lucrative opportunity.

Wives of John Julia Thorne and
Recently, new information turned up concerning the second husband of Ruth Beatrice Baker Obama Ndesandjo (Barack H. Obama II’s stepmother). Ruth’s second husband’s name is Simeon Ndesandjo. As previously reported, he was a friend of her first husband Barack Hussein Obama (BHO Sr.). Simeon is Tanzanian, not Kenyan.

Ruth Beatrice Obama married Simeon Ndesandjo about 1980. See our O Timeline for links and details. Subsequently, Ruth’s two sons by BHO Sr., Mark and David, took Simeon’s surname: Ndesandjo.

American news stories state that with Simeon, Ruth had another son by the name of Joseph. “Joey” is mentioned in Barack II’s fictional “memoir”, Dreams From My Father. But no Richard. More about him later.

We know that Ruth’s husband was Simeon Ndesandjo, and that’s confirmed by this public notice from the Kenya Gazette, Feb. 3, 2006:

That notice also confirms that Ruth’s middle name is Beatrice (unless that’s her maiden name). Until Janny Scott wrote her biography of Stanley Ann Dunham (A Singular Woman), we were told that Ruth’s maiden name was Nidesand (suspiciously close to her eventual married name). Scott informs us for the first time that Ruth’s maiden name was Baker and that she’s the daughter of the late Maurice and Ida Baker, of Newton, Massachusetts. So far, we have no independent secondary confirmation of that information. Ruth isn’t talking.

One of our regular commenters, alfy, recently tipped us to a 2010 Kenyan magazine article about Ruth. In the interview, Ruth described how she named the kindergarten that Simeon Ndesandjo had built for her. The school is known as Madari. Her sons, she says, are Mark, David (reportedly deceased), and Richard; the first two letters of each name make up the name of the kindergarten: MA DA RI.

Now this is quite a puzzlement, because heretofore it’s been reported that Ruth’s children are Mark and David, by BHO Sr., and Joseph, by Simeon, although very early news stories from Kenya reported that Ruth had sons (plural) with Simeon, which leaves open the possibility that she does have another son, named Richard Ndesandjo.

There are news articles about a Kenyan tennis player (from the early 2000s) named Richard Ndesandjo, who competed for the Davis Cup (among other titles) and who also apparently attended Cornell University from 1994 through 1998. (Those articles are now available only by subscription.) Today, Richard is about 35 years old, being born circa 1976, so about 4 years before Joseph. But wait!

Ruth and BHO Sr. were divorced by then, and she and Simeon were not yet married, although as with most stories about the extended Obama clan, accounts vary. Perhaps this is a different Richard Ndesandjo. Or perhaps that timing explains the apparent quasi-news blackout about Richard.

Another day, another Obama family puzzle.

Maybe Joseph was merely a twinkle in Simeon’s eye when Ruth named the kindergarten after her then-3 sons. The kindergarten’s website says that the school was “purposely built in 1979″ but opened the following year. Ruth also said that she’s a grandmother, as of 2010. Which son provided these grandchildren, is not known.

But back to Simeon. It appears that he was a very well-connected man of government as well as business. (Like BHO Sr., in fact!)

In June of 1963, the Kenya National Assembly Record (the Hansard) mentioned Simeon Ndesandjo. Specifically, friend of BHO Sr. and then Kenyan Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Tom Mboya, referred to a photograph in the East Africa Standard, stating that the House of Representatives had been

told that the top executive management at K.B.C. [Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation] is all Luo.

He referred to and named the men in the photograph (not available to WTPOTUS), referring to the men as those who

are going to be the top persons in the Voice of Kenya.

Mboya identified Mr. Simeon Ndesandjo, Head of Swahili Service, and then went on to complain that

out of this effective list, there is only one Luo.

Whether that one Luo was Simeon Ndesandjo, is anyone’s guess. Below is a screen shot of the excerpt that mentions Simeon Ndesandjo:

That House debate concerned nationalization of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. According to Wikipedia,

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is the state-run media organization of Kenya. It broadcasts in both English and Swahili, as well as in most local languages of Kenya. The corporation started its life in 1928 when Kenya was a British colony. In 1964, when Kenya became an independent country, the corporation’s name was changed to Voice of Kenya. In 1989, the Kenyan parliament reverted the corporation’s name from Voice of Kenya to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. … During the rule of former president Daniel arap Moi, KBC became the official mouthpiece of the government. Each broadcast opened with a piece on what the president had been doing that day.

Daniel arap Moi was the Speaker of the House at the time of that 1963 debate; Mboya congratulated involved parties on the swift Africanization of the KBC.

So Mr. Simeon Ndesandjo, early on, was a key player in the business of Africanization and nationalization during the move to Kenyan independence from British rule. Not unlike his friend, BHO Sr.

Between 1964 and 1979, Simeon became the owner of a firm called High Fidelity Productions of Nairobi. In 1979, he obtained another prestigious and likely lucrative position: Chairman of CBS Records Kenya, a new subsidiary of CBS Records, International. That would be Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), not the current CBS Records, which is a division of Viacom.

A photo from the “launch party” for the new subsidiary was published in Billboard magazine that November:

    The caption reads:

Launch Party: Peter Bond, right, CBS Records International vice president responsible for African affairs, officially opens the company’s new Kenyan subsidiary at a special ceremony in Nairobi. Left is John Dolan, CBS Records International vice president out of New York; center is Simeon Ndesandjo, chairman of CBS Records Kenya.

Following is text from the article; see this link for the rest.

Overseeing the new company is Peter Bond, vice president of CBS Records International, whose considerable African experience (including the stewardship of Phonogram Kenya [Ltd.]) led to the partnership choice of High Fidelity. Latter firm’s owner, Simeon Ndesandjo, will serve as chairman of the new CBS subsidiary.

In addition to Ndesandjo, CBS Records Kenya will have a managing director, to be appointed (probably from the current 10-person staff) by Peter Bond.

The company has temporary headquarters at Uchumi House in Nairobi, but is seeking a permanent site. Bond, normally based in London, is currently working out of the Kenyan capital during the launch period.

John Dolan characterizes the Kenya move as a significant, though not major, investment. It’s a modest market in sales terms, he says, but vital as a talent source and springboard into other African territories. There are good concert venue facilities and a thriving club scene. …

He also mentions the help received by the multinational during the formation of its new subsidiary, from banking, government and media circles.

With the appointment of a managing director, one wonders if Simeon was selected to Africanize the company, for the sake of appearances. In the same way that some “minority-owned” businesses today are actually fronts for white-owned businesses, with a minority figurehead. Was affirmative action at work, way back then, in 1979, in Kenya?

A man named Peter Colmore founded High Fidelity Productions, Ltd, of Kenya. Interesting fellow, Colmore. From his obituary:

When the stolid colonial government was confronted with the Mau-Mau rebellion and a world spotlight turned on African nationalist aspirations, Colmore was the obvious choice to initiate one response – to inaugurate a new more human Swahili broadcasting service. He again recruited announcers, quiz masters, musicians and comedians and, once that painful era of Kenya’s history had passed, he was in a good position to contribute to further improving race relations in the new Kenya.

He took Kenyan citizenship and his succession of houses in Muthaiga – a prestigious Nairobi suburb soon bristling with ministerial and ambassadorial residencies – was always full of African guests, by no means all from the new up-and-coming good and famous classes. He was never poor and, if one overlooks the five Rolls-Royces he owned during this period, nor was he at all ostentatious. Ever a natural liberal, if he nevertheless unconsciously continued to insist on the attention and precedence in Kenyan daily life formerly demanded by the settler classes, most Africans cheerfully continued to accord them to him, largely perhaps on account of his age and good, if quite often bawdy, humour.

A gifted photographer – he took the official portrait of President Jomo Kenyatta – and also no mean mimic, occasionally he could be persuaded to perform at parties and before hilarious audiences at Muthaiga Country Club. His Swahili was immaculate, but he could also converse in several other Kenyan languages and was never happier – or more popular – than when joking and haggling in vernacular markets.

The man sounds very much like the kind of guy BHO Sr. would seek out. BHO Sr. and Colmore probably knew each other, since they likely ran in the same circles. Did Simeon Ndesandjo know Colmore? Both were involved in Swahili broadcasting. Ndesandjo, during the sixties, at KBC. Later, both men were involved with High Fidelity Productions. Colmore may have been Ndesandjo’s boss, if High Fidelity of Nairobi was a subsidiary of High Fidelity of Kenya. We already knew that BHO Sr. and Ndesandjo were friends.

So is this record and broadcasting mogul–Simeon Ndesandjo–Ruth Obama’s second husband? Circumstantial evidence argues yes. Currently, he’s Facebook “friends” with Joseph’s wife Dora. He’s 75 years old, the perfect age for a contemporary of both Ruth and BHO Sr. And Ndesandjo is not a very common name in Nairobi. Likely, this connected guy is Ruth’s mysterious Tanzanian husband. If memory serves, he very much resembles the man we once saw in a wedding video.

Here’s a fun link to an example of High Fidelity’s work. Talk with the animals!

    George De Mohranschildt
George de Mohrenschildt (April 17, 1911 – March 29, 1977) was a petroleum geologist and professor who befriended Lee Harvey Oswald in the summer of 1962 and maintained that friendship until Oswald’s death, two days after the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. He was acquainted with the Bush family, including George H. W. Bush, with whose nephew, Edward G. Hooker, he had been roommates at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.[1] He was also acquainted with the Bouvier family, including Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, the president’s wife, when she was still a child. His testimony before the Warren Commission investigating the assassination was one of the longest of any witness.[2]

Early lifeGeorge de Mohrenschildt was born in Mozyr in Tsarist Russia, near the border of Poland (his birthdate was April 4 in the old style Russian Julian calendar).[3] His wealthy father, Sergius Alexander von Mohrenschildt was arrested by the Bolsheviks shortly after the Russian Revolution for anti-Communist activities.[4] Sergius was sentenced to life in exile in Siberia, but managed to escape with his family to Poland during the 1920s.[5] George graduated from a Polish military academy in 1931,[6] and received the equivalent of a doctor of science in international commerce from the University of Liège in Belgium in 1938.[7]

George de Mohrenschildt immigrated to the United States in May 1938. Upon his arrival, British intelligence reportedly told the U.S. government that they suspected he was working for German intelligence. By some accounts, he was under FBI surveillance for a time. De Mohrenschildt was hired by the Shumaker company in New York City, which also employed a man named Pierre Fraiss who had connections with French intelligence. According to de Mohrenschildt, he and Fraiss, among their other duties, gathered information about people involved in “pro-German” activities, such as those bidding for U.S. oil leases on behalf of Germany before the U.S. became involved in World War II.[8] De Mohrenschildt testified that the purpose of their data-collection was to help the French out-bid the Germans.[9]

De Mohrenschildt spent the summer of 1938 with his older brother Dimitri von Mohrenschildt on Long Island, New York. Dimitri was a staunch anti-Communist[10] and member of the OSS and one of the founders of the CIA’s Radio Free Europe and Amcomlib (a.k.a., Radio Liberty) stations.[11] His contacts included top officials of the CIA. (Dimitri died at the age of 100 in 2002.)

While in New York, de Mohrenschildt became acquainted with the Bouvier family, including young Jackie, future wife of John F. Kennedy. Jackie grew up calling de Mohrenschildt “Uncle George” and would sit on his knee.[12] He became a close friend of Jackie’s aunt Edith Bouvier Beale.[13]

De Mohrenschildt dabbled in the insurance business from 1939 to 1941, but failed to pass his broker’s examination.[14] In 1941, he became associated with Film Facts in New York, a production company owned by his cousin Baron Maydell who was said to have pro-Nazi sympathies. (De Mohrenschildt denied any Nazi sympathies of his own, claiming he helped raise money for the Polish resistance.) De Mohrenschildt made a documentary film about resistance fighters in Poland.[15] However, when the United States entered World War II, his application to join the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was rejected. According to a memo by former CIA director Richard Helms, de Mohrenschildt “was alleged to be a Nazi espionage agent.”[16]

De Mohrenschildt received a master’s degree in petroleum geology from the University of Texas in 1945.[17]

Dallas, Oswald and HaitiAfter the end of World War II, de Mohrenschildt moved to Venezuela where he worked for Pantepec Oil, a company owned by the family of William F. Buckley.[18] He became a U.S. citizen in 1949. In 1950, he launched an oil investment firm with Edward Hooker with offices in New York City, Denver and Abilene.[18] In 1952, de Mohrenschildt settled in Dallas, Texas and took a job with oilman Clint Murchison as a petroleum geologist.[19]

Described as sophisticated and articulate, de Mohrenschildt became a respected member of the Russian emigre community in Dallas. He joined the Dallas Petroleum Club,[20] was a member of the Dallas Council on World Affairs,[21][22] and taught at a local college. One of de Mohrenschildt’s longtime friends, offshore oil engineer George Kitchel, told the FBI that de Mohrenschildt counted among his good friends oil barons Clint Murchison, H.L. Hunt, John Mecom, and Sid Richardson.[23] De Mohrenschildt also joined the right-wing Texas Crusade for Freedom whose members included Earle Cabell, Everette DeGolyer, Harold Byrd and Ted Dealey.[24]

In 1957, de Mohrenschildt went to Yugoslavia to conduct a geological field survey for the U.S. State Department sponsored International Cooperation Administration. While in Yugoslavia, he was accused by the authorities there of making drawings of military fortifications. After returning to the United States, de Mohrenschildt was debriefed by the CIA, both in Washington and in Dallas.[25]

De Mohrenschildt married his fourth wife, Jeanne, in 1959. From late 1960 and into 1961, he and his wife toured Central America and the Caribbean.[26] He insisted that the trip was merely for pleasure. However, de Mohrenschildt submitted a written report of his trip to the U.S. State Department, and a photograph shows de Mohrenschildt meeting with the American ambassador to Costa Rica.[25]

Lee Harvey Oswald and his Russian-born wife Marina Oswald were introduced to de Mohrenschildt in the summer of 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas. De Mohrenschildt had heard of the Oswalds from one of the Russian-speaking group of émigrés in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. George and Jeanne befriended them, tried to help them as best they could, and introduced them to the Russian community in Dallas. In his Warren Commission testimony in 1964, de Mohrenschildt stated that he believed he had discussed Oswald with J. Walton Moore, who de Mohrenschildt described as “a Government man — either FBI or Central Intelligence”,[27][28] and who de Mohrenschildt had known since 1957.[28] (According to a CIA classified document, obtained by House Select Committee on Assassinations, J. Walton Moore was an agent of the CIA’s Domestic Contacts Division in Dallas.)[28] De Mohrenschildt asserted that shortly after meeting Oswald, he asked Moore and Fort Worth attorney Max E. Clark about Oswald to reassure himself that it was “safe” for the de Mohrenschildts to assist Oswald. De Mohrenschildt testified that one of the persons he talked to about Oswald told him that Oswald “seems to be OK,” and that “he is a harmless lunatic.” However, de Mohrenschildt was not exactly sure who it was who told him this.[29] (When interviewed in 1978 by the House Select Committee on Assassinations, J. Walton Moore denied that de Mohrenschildt had asked for his permission to contact Oswald.)[28]

In October 1962, de Mohrenschildt told Oswald that he would have a better chance of finding work in Dallas, after Oswald informed de Mohrenschildt that he had lost his job in nearby Fort Worth, Texas. Oswald was soon hired by the Dallas photographic firm of Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall. George de Mohrenschildt’s wife and daughter would later say that it was George de Mohrenschildt who secured the job at Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall for Oswald.[30]

On April 13, 1963, three days after Oswald’s alleged attempt on the life of conservative activist General Edwin Walker at his home in Dallas (for which the police had no suspects),[31] the de Mohrenschildts visited the Oswalds’ apartment. George de Mohrenschildt, aware of Oswald’s stated dislike for Walker, joked to Oswald, “Hey, Lee! How is it possible that you missed?” Lee and Marina looked at each other but said nothing.[32][33] Jeanne de Mohrenschildt later saw a rifle standing against the wall in a room that served as Oswald’s study.[34] When she and George asked why Lee owned a rifle, Marina and Lee both replied that it was for target shooting.[35]

In March 1963, de Mohrenschildt received a Haitian government contract for $285,000 to set up an industrial enterprise with other investors, which included surveying oil and geological resources on the island. In May, he met in Washington, D.C. with CIA and Army intelligence contacts to further his Haitian connections.[36][37] De Mohrenschildt moved to Haiti in June. He never saw Oswald again. After Kennedy was assassinated, de Mohrenschildt testified before the Warren Commission in April 1964. (For this testimony in the hearing record, see Testimony of George S. de Mohrenschildt.) In 1967, de Mohrenschildt left Haiti and returned to Dallas. Also in 1967, New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison interviewed George and Jeanne de Mohrenschildt as part of Garrison’s prosecution of Clay Shaw.

Ruth Hyde Paine (born September 3, 1932) was a friend of Marina Oswald, who was living with her at the time of the JFK assassination. [edit] BackgroundPaine was born Ruth Avery Hyde. She went to Antioch College and became a Quaker. Through her interest in folk dancing and music she met her future husband Michael Paine. Though strictly speaking not a Quaker, Michael attended meetings with Ruth. They married on December 28, 1957.

In 1959 Michael Paine got a job with Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth, Texas and the Paines moved into a house in the suburb of Irving. As liberals in Dallas the Paines were isolated and Ruth Paine was quite lonely.

Ruth Paine had been studying Russian since 1957. In the late 1950s she participated in Quaker pen pal programs and the East-West Contact Committee, which sponsored visits by three Soviets to the US. In 1963 she signed up to teach a summer class in Russian at St. Mark’s School in Dallas, but only one student signed up (William Hootkins, who became an actor and had a minor role in the movie Star Wars as X-Wing pilot Jek Porkins).

She met the Oswalds through her interest in Russian. A friend from a singing group, Everett Glover, invited her to a party on February 22, 1963 because he thought she would be interested in meeting people who spoke Russian. The Paines and Oswalds spent much time together after the party. Ruth befriended Marina though Lee was more distant, despite Ruth and Michael’s efforts (and the Paines did not care for him much).

[edit] JFK AssassinationRuth Paine drove Marina Oswald to New Orleans when the Oswalds moved there and back to Dallas when they moved again. When the Oswalds resettled in Dallas, Marina and the Oswald child moved in with Ruth Paine while Lee stayed in a boarding house under the name O.H. Lee. The second Oswald child was born after Marina moved in. Marina helped with the housework and Ruth’s Russian studies while Lee visited on weekends. By this time Michael and Ruth had separated, though their divorce was amicable and Michael was a frequent visitor. At the suggestion of a neighbor, Ruth Paine told Lee Oswald about a job opportunity at the Texas School Book Depository.

After the assassination Marina and Lee Oswald’s mother Marguerite briefly stayed with Ruth Paine until Marina was taken into custody by the Secret Service. Marguerite and Lee’s brother Robert did not like Ruth Paine, which may have influenced Marina Oswald. They thought Paine sought attention for herself, an opinion Marina would later express before the Warren Commission. Ruth wrote to Marina incessantly, with letters that took an almost desperate tone, but received no response except for a Christmas card. They met briefly in 1964 but afterwards they would never see each other again. Paine heard news about Marina through author Priscilla Johnson McMillan until McMillan’s relationship with Marina broke off in the early 1980s.

Paine was indirectly responsible for the discovery that Lee Oswald had attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker in early 1963. Along with letters, Paine repeatedly sent Marina pictures and other items, one of which was a thick book of household advice in Russian, in which Marina had earlier concealed the note left by Lee for Marina the day he attempted to kill Walker. Previously, no one knew who Walker’s would-be assassin was and Marina had not volunteered the information.

Ruth Paine testified before the Warren Commission and has been interviewed by a number of authors, including Johnson, William Manchester and Gerald Posner. She has appeared in numerous documentaries and even a mock trial of Lee Harvey Oswald. She also testified in Jim Garrison’s trial of Clay Shaw. Paine was not called to testify before the House Select Committee on Assassinations, although the HSCA tracked down a number of less significant witnesses like the Umbrella Man.

While discussions of her in mainstream press and publications have generally been kind, conspiracy theorists often depict the Paines in a negative light, attempting to connect them to various conspiracies going back generations since Michael Paine’s relatives and ancestors held important government and business positions. In Oliver Stone’s JFK the Paines are depicted as Bill and Janet Williams, played by Gary Carter and Gail Cronauer. While most names in the movie have not been changed it has been suggested the Paines were renamed to avoid potential legal action. (The name Janet Williams was used again in the 1993 TV movie Fatal Deception: Mrs. Lee Harvey Oswald, in which the role was played by Quenby Bakke.)

Ruth Paine returned to Pennsylvania and became principal of a Quaker school. She soon moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and got a master’s degree in psychology at the University of South Florida. After working for the school system in Franklin County in the Florida Panhandle she returned to St. Petersburg and worked for the Hillsborough County, Florida school system until her retirement. She is active in Quaker and liberal charities and organizations and lives in Santa Rosa, California.

Ruth Paine was born in 1932. She was educated at Swarthmore College. A committed Quaker, she was an active member of the American Civil Liberties Union.

Ruth married and settled in Irving, Texas. Her husband, Michael Paine, found employment as a research engineer with the Bell Helicopter Company, whereas Ruth was employed as a part-time teacher of the Russian language at St. Marks School in Dallas.

In 1963 Michael Paine left the family home. According to the author Jim Bishop (The Day Kennedy Was Shot), it was a “friendly estrangement”. Ruth continued to live in Irving and at a party in February, 1963 she was introduced to Marina Oswald and Lee Harvey Oswald by George De Mohrenschildt. On 24th April, 1963, Marina and her daughter went to live with Ruth Paine. Lee Harvey Oswald rented a room in Dallas but stored some of his possessions in Ruth Paine’s garage. Ruth also helped Oswald to get a job at the Texas School Book Depository.

On 31st October, 1963, an FBI agent, James Hosty visited Paine’s home to discover where Oswald was living. He spoke to both Paine and Marina Oswald about Lee Harvey Oswald. When Oswald heard about the visit he went to the FBI office in Dallas. When told that Hosty was at lunch Oswald left him a message in an envelope.

The contents of the envelope has remained a mystery. A receptionist working at the Dallas office claimed it included a threat to “blow up the FBI and the Dallas Police Department if you don’t stop bothering my wife.” Hosty later claimed it said: “If you have anything you want to learn about me, come talk to me directly. If you don’t cease bothering my wife, I will take appropriate action and report this to the proper authorities.”

According to fellow worker, Dave Noel, Michael Paine discussed the “character of assassins” a few hours before President John F. Kennedy was killed. He also returned to his home in Irving at 3.00 p.m. to find Dallas police officers searching the premises. He told the police: “As soon as I found out about it, I hurried over to see if I could help.”

Anthony Summers reported in his book, The Kennedy Conspiracy that Michael Paine was overheard talking to his wife on the phone. He said that he was sure that Lee Harvey Oswald had killed John F. Kennedy. He added: “We both know who is responsible.”

Buddy Walthers took part in the search of the home of Ruth Paine. Walthers told Eric Tagg that they “found six or seven metal filing cabinets full of letters, maps, records and index cards with names of pro-Castro sympathizers.” James DiEugenio has argued that this “cinches the case that the Paines were domestic surveillance agents in the Cold War against communism.”

Ruth Paine was a key witnesses for the Warren Commission and provided detailed information on the activities of Marina Oswald and Lee Harvey Oswaldbefore the assassination. Jim Garrison later suggested that Ruth Paine might have been involved in setting Oswald up as the “patsy”. Garrison points out that Paine’s father ” had been employed by the Agency for International Development, regarded by many as a source of cover for the C.I.A. Her brother-in-law was employed by the same agency in the Washington, D.C. area.” He also claims that he had tried to “examine the income tax returns of Ruth and Michael Paine, but I was told that they had been classified as secret…. What was so special about this particular family that made the federal government so protective of it?”

At 1:45AM on September 15, 2008, the firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection following the massive exodus of most of its clients, drastic losses in its stock, and devaluation of its assets by credit rating agencies. Lehman Brothers’ bankruptcy filing is the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history,[4] and is thought to have played a major role in the unfolding of the late-2000s global financial crisis. The following day, Barclays announced its agreement to purchase, subject to regulatory approval, Lehman’s North American investment-banking and trading divisions along with its New York headquarters building.[5][6] On September 20, 2008, a revised version of that agreement was approved by US Bankruptcy Court Judge James M. Peck.[7] The next week, Nomura Holdings announced that it would acquire Lehman Brothers’ franchise in the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, Hong Kong and Australia,[8] as well as Lehman Brothers’ investment banking and equities businesses in Europe and the Middle East. The deal became effective on October 13, 2008.

Howdy Renee, Thought you might like having a puzzle piece. As of 2012, you can see here that Richard Ndesandjo is still playing tennis. He belongs also to Kenya’s lawn tennis Association. He’s around 38 years old. He seems to run with a wealthy crowd. Now , here’s the thing; I am going to assume, in the two tennis photos at the Karen country club, he is most definately in one of these photos. His name is listed on the left. The way the names are listed is misleading, but if we assume he may be black like so many other Ndesandjo/nedesanjos , then we have a good chance that the one and only black dude in these photos is Richard Ndesandjo (age looks right). I found him playing in other venues in 2011 also, in Kenya. He is always called a compatriot of Kenya.
Now even though mrs. Ndesandjo claims she named her Madari kinderg. after the three fellows, but not Joseph, I will bet you what ever you want to bet that Richard is not a son of Ruth’s, maybe Simeion’s (only maybe). There was another Ndesandjo that worked at Kenya Broadcasting Corp. or the recording studio of Simeon’s. In the technical recording/sound department. You can still download music from a website of his. Perhaps Steven Ndesandjo (that’s his name) is really a son of Simeon’s and Victoria Ndesandjo’s. I have to say, It cannot be confirmed Ruth was ever married to Simeon….she may have been alowed to use his name(seeing that she was an ex-patriated citizen in Kenya and perhaps she needed a cover name. (I have my reasons to think so)
The Kenya broadcasting studio in the old days, Simeone is already there…told by an old guy that says Simeon gave him his start there. This radio station was the station that was broken into at gun point by and was used during the 1982 coup. The coup was declared over the radio. The old guy who tells the story was the one who was held there to broadcast. I think his name was Mambo or Jambo. Now most important of all is he talks about Simeon Ndesandjo in the past tense, as in the LATE mr. Simeons Ndesandjo. It is quite likely, if there is a facebook using Simeon N. it is a cover for Ruth to talk to Dora and “Joey” Ndesandjo. Simeon is passed away Renee!
Simeon was like the mentor to all the ones breaking into radio so he’d been around awhile. It was a time of lots of musicians coming from Tanzania and the Congo/Zaire and having a venue for their bands. Ndesandjo had a recording studio I think for these guys.
Here’s a couple names you might enjoy exploring for your Kennedy research. Priscilla Johnso…you must look deep…..and then another name, which intrigued me, only there is very little on him, but his name jumped out at me, because remember Ruth’s name changed so much, from Nides, Nidesand, to Ndesand-jo.—but of course this guy is associated with the Kennedy stuff. His name was Joannides. See what you can find.
You do know that Ruth HydePaine’s sister and brother in law and father worked for the government, and had special clearance, but it’s notknown what they did. If they worked ‘deep’ cover, there would be very little records on them, but it’s true.
I ‘m gladI found you Renee, I’ve missedyou.

The house in Hawaii was owned by ThelmaJones Lefforge Young and Orland”Scott” Lefforge.Thelma divorced the University of Hawaii taacher and she married Mr Young, then later, she and Scott got back together. See:
The problem is, Orland Scott and Thelma Lefforge owned and occupied the expensive house at 6085 Kalanianaole Highway. The “Obamas” didn’t live there — ever!

In 1961 the Dunhams, including Stanley Ann, lived at 2277 Kamehameha Avenue…

In 1961 the Dunhams lived on Kamehameha Avenue, while Obama Sr. lived on 11th Avenue. The Lefforge family, including their 3 children under the age of seven were residing at the luxury home listed on Obama’s newly found birth announcement — 6085 Kalanianaole Highway.

I have never seen any evidence that Obama Sr. and Anna Dunham ever lived as a married couple anywhere.

Orland Scott Lefforge was a Professor at UH at Manoa, Dept. of Speech, before becoming an assistant to Sen. Inouye in 1967. After that he wrote a paper about “In service Training as an Instrument of Change” (1971). He was also an administrator in the UH Community College office, and a member of the Osher Institute. He died July 4, 2007 at the age of 91. His wife/companion Thelma Jones Lefforge Young died June 12, 2008.

And, lo and behold! — just 10 days after Thelma’s death — Obama’s birth announcement miraculously shows up — and guess what — the birth announcement evicts Thelma from the home she lived in her entire adult life.

Ten days is plenty of time to cut, typeset, & paste a new birth announcement. From what’s on the Internet, the announcements were scanned and emailed by the librarian in Hawaii to a blogger named Lori and then to the Texas Darlin’ blog.

Unfortunately, they should have put more time into researching a safer and more practical address

Renee, a very long time ago, while checking out addresses, I found a letter to a government official on some environmental nuclear stuff…that was a petition with many signatures along with the signee’s addresses. One of the Nordyke’s sons was on the petition. The thing was long and I kept browsing to see if anymore addresses looked familiar. found several interesting people, but by mere accident I came accross the Nordyke’s address again but with a Jonathan Bourne name attached . I later found Jonathan and the Nordykes addresses crossed more than once. I began looking all around the Nordyke neighborhood and found Jonathan Bourne’s (Kakela drive or something like that) address nearby in an apartment just around the block from the Nordykes. I thought it odd that he would use the Nordyke address in this official petition. So I of course assumed he must know the Nordykes. But guess where I found Jonathan to be working also……at the Hawaii LIBRARY. He has also worked at the Hawaii University Library. Just thought you might like to know. I have always been suspicious of this guy. Don’t know if he still works or lives there anymore….it’s been long ago. I did find some other interesting things about him and the Nordykes back then, but much has been forgotten in this foggy old brain of mine.
I’ll check back with you from time to time. Hope you’re doing well
I did alot of checking on Priscilla long ago too….as I had a feeling she was a CIA asset. which others believe she was too. She did apply for work and clearance with the gov. ,but papers show she was turned down , but I doubt that was the case. She did go to Russia when Oswald was there. She spoke Russian..

The company began in 1851 as the Nordyke, Ham & Company started in the manufacture of milling machinery in a small shop in Richmond, Indiana. Previously, Ellis Nordyke, a prominent millwright, had been making hand made milling equipment himself in Richmond. Buhr stones from France were imported for grinding grains.

In 1858, Addison H. Nordyke and his father, Ellison, formed a partnership in to manufacture and build flour mills. The company was named E. & A. H. Nordyke with a small building just behind Ellis Nordyke’s home serving as the first plant. This business continued until 1866 when Daniel W. Marmon joined the firm and the name changed to Nordyke Marmon & Company. Around 1870, Nordyke Marmon & Co. was a major concern in constructing mills. Amos K. Hallowell began with the company in 1875 and stayed through until 1895.

Addison H. Nordyke stayed with the company as an active official until 1899 and as a stockholder and director until 1904. Daniel W. Marmon continued his active official connection with the company until his death in 1909.

Move to Indianapolis [edit]In 1875, Nordyke Marmon & Company moved to Indianapolis to obtain better manufacturing and shipping facilities. The “Quaker City Works”, located in West Indianapolis adjoining the Indianapolis & Vincennes Railroad and Belt Railroads, was purchased in 1876. The firm grew in this location and became known as America’s top mill builder.

Nordyke Marmon exported machinery products to Canada, Mexico, Central and South America furnishing complete machinery equipment for flour mills, corn mills, cereal mills, starch and rice mills and elevators. They made roller mills, bolting machines, packers, blending machinery, rice, corn and starch mill machinery and numerous special machines.

Marmon Motor Car Company [edit]The Marmon sons who were running Nordyke Marmon were dissatisfied with the automobiles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1902 they built a luxury car to satisfy their own demands. Howard Marmon went on to develop the Marmon Motor Car Company.

Nordyke Marmon & Company was bought out by Allis-Chalmers in 1926 and discontinued making mills.

And a tennis guy for you too:

Swift, like meat too, and a singer..
He was the second of three boys born to William Swift and Sally Crowell, descendants of British settlers who went to New England in the 17th century. The family (which included Gustavus’ brothers Noble and Edwin) lived and worked on a farm in the Cape Cod town of West Sandwich, Massachusetts (present-day Sagamore), where they raised and slaughtered cattle, sheep, and hog. This is where he got the idea of packing meat.

A map of Barnstable County, Massachusetts dated 1890.As a boy, Swift took little interest in his studies and consequently left the nearby country school after only eight years. During that period he was employed in a number of jobs, finally finding full-time work in his elder brother Noble’s butcher shop at the age of fourteen. Two years later, in 1855, he opened his own cattle and pork butchering business with the help of one of his uncles who loaned him $400. Swift purchased livestock at the market in Brighton and drove them to Eastham, a ten-day journey. A shrewd businessman, he purportedly followed the somewhat common practice of denying his herds water during the last miles of the trip so that they would drink large quantities of liquid once they reached their final destination, effectively boosting their weights. Swift married Annie Maria Higgins of North Eastham in 1861. Over the years Annie gave birth to a total of eleven children, nine of whom reached adulthood. In 1862, Swift and his new bride opened a small butcher shop and slaughterhouse. Seven years later Gustavus and Annie moved the family to Brighton (near Boston), where in 1872 Swift became partner in a new venture, Hathaway and Swift. Swift and partner James A. Hathaway (a renowned Boston meat dealer) initially relocated the company to Albany, then almost immediately thereafter to Buffalo.

James B. Lee Jr. (born 1952), commonly known as Jimmy, is an investment banker, notable for his role in the development of the leveraged finance markets in the U.S. in the 1980s. Lee is widely credited as the architect of the modern-day syndicated loan market.[1]

Lee currently serves as vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase & Co. and a member of the bank’s executive committee. Additionally, Lee serves as Co-Chairman of JPMorgan’s investment bank.

[edit] CareerLee joined Chemical Bank in 1975 and worked in a variety of lending businesses until 1980, when he founded and ran Chemical’s merchant bank in Australia. In 1982, he returned to the US and started the bank’s syndicated leverage finance group, which constituted the origins of the investment banking business at Chemical and later Chase Manhattan Bank. Lee ran the investment bank until the merger with J.P. Morgan & Co. in 2001.[1]

At the same time, he built the bank’s financial sponsor coverage business focused on private equity firms as well as the bank’s mergers and acquisitions business.[1]

In 2000, Lee was effectively demoted in favor Geoffrey Boisi[2] but within two years Biosi was out and Lee was again leading investment banking at JP Morgan.[3] By 2007, Lee was placed at the center of a New York Times illustration title “Masters of the New Universe” where he was connected with some of the largest leveraged buyout transactions of the past decade.[4]

[edit] PersonalHe received a B.A. from Williams College in 1975, where he double majored in Economics and Art History. He is also a graduate of the Canterbury School (1971). Lee had a personal net worth of 185 million dollars in 2010.[citation needed]
